For the Student Blogging Challenge #10, we did an audit on our blog. Below are the questions and our answers.

Q: How many posts did you write?

A: 9

Q: How many were school based, your own interests or set by the challenge?

A: Set by the Challenge: 7/9 which is 78%, and  School based 2/9 which is 22%

Q: How many comments did you receive from classmates, teachers or overseas students?

A: We received 17 comments so far.

  • Classmates — 5
  • Teachers — 5
  • From other countries (students and/or teachers) — 7

Q: Which post received the most comments? Why do you think that happened?

A: The post that got the most comments was “Visiting Others on Our Blogroll,” written by Robynn, Tina, and Kathryn. We think this one got the most comments because they liked the idea of visiting other classes, and curious what we wrote. Plus it looked good with the visuals and was well written. Then, our question at the end of our post was, “Where do you think we should visit next?” started a conversation with those who visited us.

Q: Which post did you enjoy writing the most and why?

A: The majority agreed that Challenge 2, Where We Would Visit, was our favorite because everyone in class had a chance to choose where they wanted to research, did some research, and then wrote a sentence or two where we wanted to visit and why.

Q: Did you change blog themes at all and why?

A: Yes, because we went from the freebie blog to the campus blog, which had more options.

Q: How many widgets do you have? Do you think this is too many or not enough?

A: We have these widgets:

  • Recent comments
  • Recent posts
  • Archives
  • ClustrMap
  • Another Clustr Map
  • Class Twitter Link
  • Pages
  • Blogroll
  • Class Avatar
  • Subscribe by email
Half the class thinks we should have more widgets, such as: Pictures (either in Flickr or a slide show) or videos
The other half of the class thinks we have just enough widgets.

Q: How many overseas (out of the country) students do you have on your blogroll?

A: Here are our answers:

Next we interviewed Mrs. Oswald about our blog. Here is her response:

Wow! Ms. Olen’s class I was really impressed with your BLOG. I could see the amount of work you put into it. The different fonts and colorful pictures caught my attention. I don’t think I was distracted by anything. I wanted to spend more time than I had reading the entire thing!! No improvements. I know as you move forward you will add even more neat things.

Thanks for sharing,

Mrs. Oswald

We really loved being part of the Student Blogging Challenge, and want to continue blogging and improving our blog.

What feedback can you give us about our blog?

What is strong or what did you like about our blog? What would you recommend for improvements?

My favorite food is cupcakes. I like it when they have lots of frosting on them. Cupcakes are so good. I love having cupcakes for birthdays. I love cupcakes!  Cupcakes are an American  birthday tradition.
