Cap and Gown

On Thursday our little babies had their pictures for graduation.  Can you believe the end of the school year is almost near!  It seems like yesterday you all were coming in for meet the teacher, were so timid about joining our class and had no idea what to expect!  I can honestly say we have had an incredible year!  I am going to be incredibly sad to see all my lovelies head to first grade. I get teary just thinking about it!  They have made such huge gains not only academically, but also emotionally and socially. They have truly become fine young ladies and gentlemen!  We have prepared them as best we can and look forward to seeing all of their successes in first grade!

On Thursday we smiled real big for our Spring Pictures!  We got the chance to do a class picture all together.  I can’t wait to see how they all turned out!  If you didn’t already send money in, and you would still like to purchase pictures you can send them in this week.

The Bunny Hop

On Thursday our students participated in the Bunny Hop run.  The students had such a fun day running laps of the field trying to beat each other for the most laps. We had some great runners out there! Once they finished running may of them got some yummy snacks!  Ice cream and popcorn were served.  If that wasn’t exciting enough, during their recess time all students got to participate in our Spring Carnival!  Prizes were even awarded to some of our friends!  What a great way to end the week!

Fire Safety

Posted on

A couple weeks ago we had some very special guests visit us in Kindergarten.  One of the Apache Junction Fire crews came out to teach us about fire safety.  This was such a cool and engaging experience for our students.  They started by showing us a video presentation with some fire safety information. The crew brought some of their gear and put it on so we could learn about what all the different pieces do and how it keeps them safe.  Firefighters can look kind of scary during an emergency so they dressed up in their gear and moved around the floor so we could see and hear what it would sound like if they were trying to find us in an emergency.  We realized that they aren’t that scary after all!  At the end of their visit we even got to go onto the fire truck!

Rodeo Girls

Last week we had some very specials guest visit the K-3 classes.  3 of the top Rodeo Girls from the Lost Dutchman Days came to share with us and teach us about the rodeo.  We learned how to barrel race, and even how to rope a calf!  Our own Karma even got a shot at it!  She just may be a future rodeo girl herself!  If you haven’t had a chance to visit the Lost Dutchman Days of Apache Junction make sure to check it out!
