On Friday we had our annual visit from Ms. Kate. Ms. Kate is one of the ladies who works in our OT (Occupational Therapy Department). Let’s just say she is AMAZING! She brought her banjolele and taught us Mat Man. Mat Man helps our kinder friends understand how to properly draw people. No one wants to have arms and legs out of their heads! She also worked on some fine motor skills with us to work those muscles in our fingers.
Our first week was scary, exciting and nervousness all wrapped into one! We started to learn about the guidelines and expectations of school, such as how we walk around campus, how we use school materials, and how we treat our new friends. We even got to eat lunch with our new friends! Change can be super scary but all our kindergartners were troopers! They looked like pro’s in no time! Due to us having more kindergartners then expected, Mrs. Longacre came back to join us. She was a part of our kinder team last year and we’re very excited to have her back. This unfortunately meant we had to send some friends to her class. The good thing is we’re right next door and we do a lot of activities through the year together so we’ll still see the new friends we made.
Here we go again! Welcome to the 2018/19 school year. I’m not too sure where the summer went, but I’m so excited to be back! Here at Peralta Trail you get that “family feel” from the moment you walk in the doors. You are instantly part of our team in one capacity or another. Our school theme for this school year encompasses just that. “Ohana” means family and that’s exactly what we are. Welcome to the 2018/19 school year, and welcome to the family! We’re so excited to have you on board!
