Tips on writing a quality blog comment from Kindergarten students

November5

We brainstormed tips for leaving comments on blogs, then we visited a few blogs from the Student Blogging Challenge to leave them some comments.

Here’s our brainstorm:

Mrs. Rabe's Class comment tips

Here’s the first blog we visited was Room 16 in New Zealand. http://room16stalbans2013.blogspot.co.nz/

We liked their post about art and wrote this comment for them:Screen Shot 2013-11-05 at 2.04.07 PM

We thought your people were colorful. We liked all the circles that you used. We thought the tent was neat to have.

What did you use to build the tent? When do you get to go in the tent?

Mrs. Rabe’s Kindergarten Class

The second blog we visited was Room 4, http://glsbrass.blogspot.co.nz/, also in New Zealand. We loved their video they made about their field trip. You should watch it! In fact, it gave us an idea for our next blog post!

Here is our comment to themScreen Shot 2013-11-05 at 2.09.21 PM

Dear Room 4,

Thank you for sharing your zoo video with us. We liked your drawings too.

We have a zoo near us, the Phoenix Zoo, in the USA. We have some of the same animals, but we do not have a bearded dragon. Some of the same animals are monkeys, elephants, snakes, lions, zebras, giraffes, parrots, and meerkats.

We are wondering, have you been on other field trips or are you going on any more field trips this year?

We saw that your zoo was a lot like our zoo, so we are wondering if your recess is like our recess time. Do you play basketball at recess?

From,

Mrs. Rabe’s Kindergarten Class

We look forward to going back to their blogs to see if they replied to our questions.

How do you leave quality comments for others on their blogs?

What tips can you share about writing quality comments?

Our World Compared to Our Grandparent’s World

October29

We talked about when our Grandparents were little and what was different from now.

During this time that we worked on our poster, we found out who lives with our grandparents and who does not.

Do you spend time with your grandparents?

Have you ever gone to the park with your grandparents?

How do you build inventions?

Do your grandparents help you load the inventions?

How did your grandparents talk on the phone?

What inventions have been created since your grandparents were born?
