Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

fullsizer-5img_0367Harry Potter is a book.  In the book a boy is named Harry Potter.  His parents died so he lived with his horrible Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon and Cousin Dudley.  How did his family die you ask, well it all started when Harry was a baby.  This evil wizard Voldemort was trying to kill his parents and him.  Voldemort did kill his mom and dad but instead of killing Harry, Voldemort just gave him a little lightening bolt scar.  My favorite part is when Harry meets Hermione.  Hermione is one of his best friends.  She helps him pass his tests.  Harry Potter is a good book because it is funny, sad, and good all at the same time. By Helen

Harry Potter is a book about a wizard.  His parents died and Harry got rich and famous because he survived You Know Who.  My favorite part is when Harry Potter wins a fight against You Know Who.  I liked it because when they were fighting Harry’s hands burned You Know Who.  Harry Potter is a great book because it is very exciting and you never know what is going to happen.  By Antony

img_0366We just finished Harry Potter.  It was about Harry Potter.  He figures out that he is a wizard and he goes to wizard school.  He finds out that Voldemort is after the sorcerer’s stone.  Harry had to pass through traps to get to the sorcerer’s stone.  My favorite part was when Harry fights Voldemort and when Harry first meets Hermione.  By Gwen

Being Thankful

This week we did a Thanksgiving card to tell another person things you are thankful for about them.  After that, we did a thing called Turkey Writing.  We wrote three things we are thankful for and why.  One thing I am thankful for is my family.  We even decorated it.  Then we did thankful sticky notes.  You got to pick a sticky note and it had a students name on it.  You have to write something that is nice about them and something you are thankful for about them.  When I got my sticky note I felt really happy.  By Karen

Last week we made things that told people what we were thankful about them.  First we made thankful cards so we can tell people why you are thankful for them.  Next we did turkey writing.  You had to write 3 things we were thankful for and why.  We decorated the writing when we were done.  Last we made a thankful sticky.  That was when everybody got a sticky note with someones name on it and you had to write why you are thankful for them.  The teacher thought this was important because she wanted us to do nice things for other people.  When I got my letter and note it made me feel very happy inside.  By Madison

Tonto National Monument

This week a Park Ranger from Tonto National Monument came over to our school.  Her name is Ranger Jen.  When she was here she told us about animals we did not know about.  She showed us a cool dance and we also got to play a really fun game.  It is when cards with animals on them get taped to our backs and we stand up and ask each person questions to figure out what animal we have.  Like if our animal has wings, can jump and if you guess it then we go to our teacher and tell her the guess.  If it is right you sit at your seat.  If it is wrong then you still have to walk around the class and try to guess.  By Miracle

Ranger Jen was fun to talk to because we got to play a game.  The game was about guessing the animal on your back.  It was super fun because you can only ask one thing about your animal to each person.  Anyways it was very fun! By Antony

This week Ranger Jen came and visited us.  She told us about all the the animals where she works at.  She even taught us a song and a soft of game.  I like how the game puts tape on your back and puts a picture of an animal.  Then we have to figure out if what that animal is.  The animal might be a mammal or insect.  Most of the class got their animal right.  My animal was a toad frog.  I was kind of disgusted but we had lots of fun with her.  She told us that animals that are invertebrates and vertebrates.  Ranger Jen is a very nice person and kind.  By Sara
