Dia de los Muertos

Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a when people celebrate people who died in Mexico.  You can celebrate it even if you don’t live in Mexico.  Mrs Gibson is a Mexican teacher at our school.  She came with her children and we talked about what you do for Day of the Dead.  Then we got a paper of a sugar skull and colored it.  We got Day of the Dead bread from Mexico.  It is way better than American bread.  The bread had colored candy sprinkles on it.  It was very good.  By Eli

November 2nd was Dia de los Muertos.  Mrs. Gibson told us all about Dia de los Muertos.  She said that Dia de los Muertos is a holiday that is celebrated in Mexico and sometimes in the United States.  Mrs. Gibson gave us bread of Dia de los Muertos and a paper of a sugar skull to color.  Mrs. Gibson talked about La Catrina, a skeleton that has a fancy dress.  The poor people made La Catrina to make fun of the rich people.
