On February 24th, 2016 we did World Read Aloud Day. If you don’t know what World Read Aloud Day is, it’s a special day when you either read books aloud or you can skype with another class and read books with that class. My class got to skype with another class. They were in Georgia. My class picked Gavin to read aloud because he was not afraid to make little voices. We also picked someone to hold up the book while Gavin read. The person who was picked was Maria. During the skype you had the choice to either sit at the horse shoe table or at your seat. If you sat at the horse shoe table you could watch from the computer and at your seat you could watch from the projector. We got to read a book called The Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend. The other class read Wild About Books. We even got to talk to each other about the books we read. It was a really fun reading activity to get to practice reading with kids across the country. I hope I can do it again next year!
I’m going to tell you about our World Read Aloud day. Ms. Lougheed’s class read the book called Wild About Books to us. Then we read a book to them called The Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend. After we read each book, we asked each other questions about the books, where we lived, and what our schools are like. After that we all said bye, and waved our hands, the other students did the same thing.
