Progress Reports


Progress Reports window closes on Thursday Feb 7th. If you need help with your username or password you can contact the from office-or ask your student to login with their information 🙂 I will have grades done by Feb 3rd for this Progress Report.

In Math we have two standards this week –
G.A.04 – I can solve real world problems by finding surface area for three dimensional figures using nets with fractional edges.
G.A.02 – I can find the missing side length of a right rectangular prism given a volume and fractional side lengths.

For Reading we are doing RI.08 – I can analyze the meaning of figurative, connotative, and technical meanings of words and phrases in text.


Thursday February 9th is our Valentines Day Dance – hope to see you there!!!

I can’t believe we are already in Quarter 3 🙂
Reminder, there is no school Monday January 16th in observation of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

A big compliment to all students in my room, every one came back ready to learn and focused! I was very impressed with their behavior the first day back in school. Here are some photos from the first day back and some information about changes……

Science Fair and Merry Christmas

The presentation of our Science Fair Projects will be in room 27 and room 28 from 9am to 12pm today. Other classrooms will be coming to view, so if you plan on visiting come anytime.


There is no homework this week. 🙂


AR Reading Goals for Quarter 3 have been set! Report cards will go home after Winter Break.


Tomorrow is a half day. It is also our AR party and cookie decorating party. No donations needed, I have all the supplies.

Here is some News on what is happening at DVES, in 6th grade, and in our classroom….

Our AR Raffle Board for 100% scores is full! 🙂 Today is the drawing for $20 – winner takes all!

We have a Spelling Bee today from 9am to 11am. These students are competing from our class: Olivia, Malia, Alex, Izak, and Allie. *Update* Allie McAdams won the 4th-6th grade Spelling Bee and will go on to compete at the District Spelling Bee in January. YAY!!!!! *

Science Projects are due Monday Dec 19th, Science Fair is Dec 21st time TBD (a flyer will come home).

Important Dates and Testing


This week and next week there is NO HOMEWORK. Please make sure students are going to bed at a reasonable hour, and not staying up late with their electronic devices. Students need sleep these next 2 weeks!

Tues Dec 6th – STAAR Reading Benchmark
Thur Dec 8th – STAAR Math Benchmark
Mon Dec 12th – Math Benchmark
Wed Dec 14th – Spelling Bee 9am to 11am in cafeteria
Thur Dec 15th – AR Goals are Due for Quarter 2!
Mon Dec 19th – Science Project is Due!
Wed Dec 21st – Science Fair in cafeteria time TBD
Thur Dec 22 – Half Day: Cookie decorating party in class, and AR party

Dec 23-Jan 8th Winter Break

Ask your student how they are scoring on their Benchmarks.
Each student can pull up their data doc from their Gmail account on any computer, tablet, or phone! 🙂
