Figurative Language

Post written by Mrs. Renzulli in 2012

As you read through these poems think about figuartive language that the author is using and discuss with your classmates what was interesting about that poem. Ask your self the following questions:

Did the author use similes in their poem?

Did the author use personification in their poem?

What was interesting about the author’s poem?

Why do you think the author used these types of figurative language in their poem?

What is the author really trying to express in their poem?

Speaking of books I just read a book called” The Word According to Humphrey.” The chapter I love the best was chapter 15 because at the end of this book Mrs. Brisbane turned nicer and Humphrey solved everyone’s problems.
