Did you know that in 2009 there were 702,000 children who were abused or neglected in the United States? That’s a lot of children! So imagine how many total there would be if we included all the countries!
There are young children who are being physically abused. There are many ways we can stop this. Young children are being hit pushed and some time not even fed. We need to put our thoughts into action. The only way we can help is to speak out and say something. Think of how many children are in danger because of this problem.
All around the world children are being threatened. People are threatening them by saying, “I’m not going to take good care of you.” This is not funny business. I’m not feeding you. That’s how people are threatening children. WE NEED A STOP TO THIS. This can be stopped by going to Child Protective Services (CPS) a place to keep kids safe.
You should now be aware about children being abused all around the world by bullies, adults, and even their own parents are abusing them. You can help protect them by:
- talking to them
- ask if they are being bullied
- joining C.P.S.
- even taking them to school would help
Please help stop child abuse.
What can you do to help?

You picked a very important issue that all teachers are very aware of. Did you know that teachers are supposed to report anytime we think a child is being abused or neglected? If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected and you don’t know who to talk to, I would suggest you go to your teacher.

Dear Mr. C,
Thank you for the good advice. Natalie didn’t know that you are supposed to report it to a teacher. Do all teachers know that?
I did not know that abuse was also not feeding your child and not giving him/her water. Natalie and me think that people should start a money donation to the kids that have been abused.
Thanks again for your comment,

Hello Faith, Harloe, Loran, and Natalie,
When seeing Challenge 6, I was wondering what topics might be chosen. You have chosen a very important one.
All children should be able to grow safe, loved and healthy. The sadness is this doesn’t happen for all children.
Mr Chamberlain makes an important point, teachers are mandatory reporters. It is our job to do something if we learn of an abused child.
This post was very impressive. Well done!

Dear Mr. Mannell,
Thank you for the good advice and comment. We learned a lot on research on abuse, and that everybody should have a healthy and loved kid so thanks for that really good comment.
