Digital Dossier

written by the students of Mrs. Bliss’ class

Are you aware of your digital dossier? Did you know that your digital dossier follows you your whole life, so you have to be careful what you do online? Make sure you stay safe by not giving out personal information online such as your phone number and where you live. Your digital dossier also records your attitudes and how you treat others, so make sure it’s positive.

A digital dossier is something that tracks down all of the things you have done digitally. For example, what pictures you upload. Here are some more examples: Say you buy an X box live. You’re communicating with someone. It tracks that down. Or, say you get a debit card, it tracks that down too. Let’s say you get a Facebook account, it tracks everything you comment on, post, upload, and like there. It tracks down everything digital.

Being safe is an important part of your digital dossier. If you’re not safe it’ll go straight to your digital dossier. Your dossier is like a report. “So be safe.” Don’t post any personal information such as your last name, phone number, jobs, addresses, e-mails, and other terms.

Don’t accept or reply to anyone you do not know. Don’t enter sites that are inappropriate, they might effect your dossier.

Being positive is a big part of your digital dossier. One part of being positive are things that you post in comments. Your comments should be polite and encouraging. While you’re on any site, be sure to respect yourself and others. Your pictures should be appropriate to your conversation. These have been some ways you can be positive and keep your digital dossier clean.

Here is a great video called Digital Dossier by DigitalNatives, that we watched during the Edublogs Student Blogging Challenge #3 about your digital dossier.

Are you aware of what your Digital Dossier is now?

Now do you understand that your Digital Dossier is going to follow you until you pass away, and even after that? Your Digital Dossier increases your level of danger if you post or text too much personal information or something rude. It also shows your integrity and character if it’s a safe and positive digital dossier.

What does your digital dossier say about you?

How can you build a positive and safe digital dossier?

    Mrs Bliss and class,
What a great post about your digital footprint or dossier! Remember as you get older and using smartphones, Ipads, Kindles etc you will be enlarging your footprint, so being positive is very important.

    Mrs. Henry,
Hi, Thanks for visiting our blog. We have really spent a long time working to get our blog this far. We have been having Mrs. Watanabe come in every Monday for around one hour every day. Mrs. Watanabe and our class have been helping Mrs. Bliss since this is her first time having an edublog. We are all very proud of our blog.

Mrs. Bliss said to tell you that she loves and misses you. Mrs. Bliss also told us that you were her mentoring teacher 16 years ago and that she learned so much from you. Thank you for helping Mrs. Bliss become a teacher. Mrs. Bliss is a good teacher and we are happy she is our teacher.

    Do you have an Edublog?
