    Dear Mrs. Iovino,

I would give this book a 5 star rating because Ally kind of relates to me because she love to draw. I would not be Ally because I can and love to read. Which character are you most connected to?
    Sincerely,
    Katelynn

  4. Avery says:

    *****
    5 STARS

I think that the book “Fish in a Tree” is a weird book but in a good way. Ally is always thinking on how she could draw these amazing art pieces. And how nobody knows that she doesn’t know how to read. I think that it’s funny that Ally gave the pregnant teacher a sympathy card! ~Avery

  5. Johnathan Olson says:

I give it a ***** star rating because she is kind of like me because she can see letters differently & I see every thing in patterns.

  6. Marek says:

I just finished chapter 4 with my class, and so far it is an amazing book! Although I’d only give it 4 1/2 stars out of 5. My only reason for that is that it has that negative vibe. Around that problem it is a good book! -SPOILER ALERT- I am going to talk about a yes or no kinda thing, my teacher pointed out “do you think her mom know’s she can’t read?” I believe that she doesn’t because then the teacher Mrs. Hall would know and try to help her.

  7. Cruz Daianna Martinez says:

This has been an exiting book to read aloud with the whole class. This is a very interesting book about a troubled girl who seems to have more potential then she looks to have. I think this story is great because there is a lot of mixed emotions, like for example one minute she’s happy she’s doing something nice the next she’s sad of what she has done. Overall I give this story a 5-star rating for now. I’m really hoping to be impressed as we read on ,this has been a good book to read so far.

  8. Raymond Mortensen says:

I would give this book 5 stars.
I give it 5 stars because it is very interesting because Allay has so many problems in here life. But I think as the story resolves she would learn how to read and she would teach those jerk girls Shay and Jessica a lesson.

    • Stephanie says:

Raymond I agree with you because it is a very interesting book. I think that Shay and Jessica need to learn a lesson.

  9. Mario English says:

I am in 6th grade. I rate the book so far is a 4 star. Why, because Ally is using funny metaphors in what she says. I don’t like is when her mom doesn’t know she can’t read because every mom knows everything there children does. Well that’s my story anyway.

  10. Katie Hirn says:

I give this book is a 5 star rating because,I think all students can relate to this because all students struggle with something. Like I struggle with reading fast and i’m slow at reading. I also like that Ally gave her teacher a card with flowers on it because, she sees a pretty card and then when you open it it’s different. This book is a very good book so far. I personally think that her mom needs to pay more attention to Ally with her homework and fiends.

    • 04asimpson says:

      Dear Katie,
I agree with you. Some people struggle in some subjects. I also think that Ally’s mom needs to pay more attention to her.

I can relate by my mom wanting to hang out with people unrelated i have a lot of friends not like her.I wish i owned this book but i don’t have this book:[ sad face. “Fish in a tree”is a good book.Ally (the main character) is in 6th grade and she can not read. There are two other girls named Shay and Jessica.Shay and Jessica pick on Ally because she can not read.I would give this book a rating of 5 stars.I would rate 5 stars because the book is the best book I ever read.

  16. Tatum says:

I would give this book a 3 because wouldn’t Ally’s mom know that she can not read? If her mom does know why isn’t she doing anything to help her.If she wants her daughter to succeed then she should test her limits to see what she needs to work on with her daughter.

    • Zoey says:

I don’t agree with you on the rating of the book. Ally is not telling anyone about how she can’t read and her mom is working late and dose not really have time to be with Ally.I do agree with you on how she needs to help her daughter succeed and test her.

  17. Tori Porter says:

This is an awesome book. This girl named Ally is in 6th grade and she can not read. So she lies and says “Oh, i can read”.But it looked like bugs on the wall (in her eyes). Then in a party she get gets in trouble…………Find out the rest if you read it.

The rating I would give this book is a 5 out of 5 star rating. My favorite part is when Ally gets the flowers and the card for her teacher for a baby shower gift, and it ends up being a sympathy card.

I would give the book “Fish in a tree 4 out of five stars because I do not like how ally lets her self down. The part I do like about it is how she is facing all of these problems in her life such as not being able to read or being bullied by Jessica and Shay.Ally’s mom doesn’t know That Jessica and Shay are bullying her.I also think Ally’s mom doesn’t know that Ally can not read.If I were to pick a favorite part of the book it would be When Ally is about to apologize to her teacher because she gave her a sympathy card when her teacher is about to have a baby but then she had to leave so she did not miss the bus but she ended up missing the bus anyway.

  28. Craig Bro says:

    4 1/2 stars
Great story but she brings herself down too much it is freaking me out I can not take it any more . I like the part where she is afraid that her secret will get out about how she can not read when she accidentally gets her teacher a sympathy card .

  29. Zoey says:

“Fish in a tree”I would give it a 4 star rating because I just started reading a couple weeks ago.My opinion on the book so far is that Ally the main character keeps on putting her self down.I think ally needs to stop putting her self down and tell some one she dose not know how to read so she won’t get made fun of.My favorite part of the book was when Ally said something nice about her brother she said something positive.Ally said “I am glad you had a silver dollar day to her brother.”

I really like the book so far. I would give the book 5 stars. I feel like that a lot of us can relate to Ally. Ally is a 6th grader who has trouble reading. I feel that not all of us have trouble reading but some of us still have trouble with other subjects. My favorite part is when she gives her teacher a symphony card for her baby showers. It was both funny and sad for Ally.

  35. Saul says:

I Like this book, its really great.I don’t like the way how the teacher reads a chapter a day it makes us want to read more.My Favorite part is when the principle takes ally out of her classroom and tells her to read a poster and all ally sees is like beetles on a wall~Saul
