The purpose of this blog is to connect to an authentic audience about what we are learning. Blogging is more than just writing and reading, it’s about respectfully conversing with others around the globe. Through blogging, students will practice the responsibilities of digital citizenship and Internet safety.

About the School

We part of the Apache Junction Unified School District, in Gold Canyon, Arizona. Our school is the only one in our district that has an outdoor classroom, a project that Mrs. Goucher started six years ago. We are also in the process of designing an observatory to view space, another project started by Mrs. Goucher.

About the Teachers

Mrs. Goucher and Mrs. Watanabe are joining together to start this blog. For those of you who don’t know Mrs. Watanabe, she used to be a 5th grade teacher at our school and now works for the Technology Department. For those of you who don’t know Mrs. Goucher, she’s a 4th grade teacher, AJHS Soccer Coach, and one of the directors/coaches of the first ever AJ Club soccer team.

About the Students

We are a hard working class who never gives up and has fun working with each other. We like to learn.  We are excited to have someone from Australia visit our school district.  We are excited to learn about what foods Mr. Davo Devil eats.  We love to visit all the other blogs to see what they want to say.  We are excited to work on the Edublogs Student Challenge and can not wait to learn more about others.

G’day Mrs Goucher, (Hi Mrs Watanabe)

Thanks for registering for the September student blogging challenge. Make sure you visit the blog every week beginning September 12, when the first challenge will be published. If you want a reminder sent to your email each week, use the “Subscribe by email” on the right sidebar of the blog. Also make sure you visit blogs from other classes around the world.

  2. Hi Miss W,
Thank you for all you do! I wished I had videoed their faces when I told them that you would visit us! Priceless.
    Kind regards,
    Mrs. Watanabe

Your list of places to visit sound interesting. Are you all fourth grade students? We are all in second grade in Monroe, North Carolina. We would love to know more about you and your school. There are 850 students in our school Pre-K to 5th grade students. Our teacher is Mrs. Todd. We are known as the Roadrunners because that is our school mascot. Have you ever seen a roadunner?

What else are you learning about? Can you teach us something unique and different? Check out our blog site at http://brendatodd.edublogs.org/
