What does it mean to be a good digital citizen? It means being safe, responsible, polite, and helping others in our digital world.

We are learning about digital citizenship as part of the Edublogs Student Blogging Challenge #3. Blogging is brand new to us, and we are learning how important digital citizenship is. Here’s our video to share some of what we’ve learned so far:

    Hi Miss W!Before I began answering otesuiqns, I would like to say that I have learned so much during the challenge and I have enjoyed every minute of it! Now time to answer the otesuiqns. Is two weeks early enough for registration to begin before the first challenge?No, I think this time period is just right! I don’t think that there is any reason for someone to forget to sign up for the challenge when having 2 weeks!Did you subscribe by RSS or email in order to get the posts as soon as they were published?Yes, I did this because I wanted to know when the next challenge comes up so I can do it!How useful are these pages in the header of the blogging challenge?Very useful because I don’t have to go look through the posts when I need to find things like student participants etc! The challenges:Did you visit the actual challenge on the blog each week or did your teacher have a post on your class blog?I visited the actual challenge each week.Which challenges were the most useful?I think that the most useful challenges were the global issues one, improving your posts one and the one about me on the internet.Which challenges were the most interesting?I think that the global issues challenge was very interesting and the one about me on the internet.What would be some other topics you would like included in future challengesMaybe sport or music? Are more tutorial type challenges needed? eg how to make a link in your postYes, those particular challenges helped me know how to put attribution to a person in a picture.Were the ‘Visit these’ posts useful?Yes, I liked seeing my name on some of them!Were the challenges where you had to embed ie polls, cartoons, wallwisher etc interesting or could you not embed due to being a free Edublogs blog or a blogging platform that didn’t allow embedding?I think that they were very interesting and didn’t have any problems at all!Were there enough chances to visit blogs from overseas and make links with other students/classes?Yes, because you included the ‘visit these’ blogs and you had a blog roll and a paricipents list.Did you make global connections?Yes, I now know a girl called Mohana from over seasAnything else you would like to mention about the challenge in particularI enjoyed it very much and learned heaps!How many posts did you write? During the challenge I wrote 22 postsHow many were school based, your own interests or set by the challenge?The other posts not including the challenge that I wrote is 54How many comments did you receive from classmates, teachers or overseas students?I received 103 commentsWhich post received the most comments? Why do you think that happened?Well I got 3 comments on the posts 10 blog comments and 5 tourist attractions. I think I got comments on those posts because they were interesting maybe and because they worth long Which post did you enjoy writing the most and why?I enjoyed writing the posts about my favourites because I talked about sport and I love sport and also because you could do whatever you want and be creative!Did you change blog themes at all and why?I did change blog themes for the Halloween season because it was one of the requirements if you wanted to do it on the challenge!How many widgets do you have? Do you think this is too many or not enough?I have 28 widgets and I think that is a pretty good number.How many overseas students do you have on your blogroll?I have 5 overseas student blogs on my blogrollThanks for the challenge!Angie
