Minecraft Student Blogging Challenge #2

March 16, 2013 by Ethan · 23 Comments · Games, Life, Student Blogging Challenge

Week 2 in the Student Blogging Challenge, I’m going to write about Minecraft. I love to play Minecraft. I love to build awesome houses, explore, and mine.

I made this house on Minecraft.

I also like to play with my friends on Minecraft. We love to explore the new updates on creative mode together. The main objective on Minecraft is to build, mine, explore, and have fun! On Minecraft there are zombies, skeletons, spiders, creepers, pigs, chickens, cows, sheep, etc.

Minecraft Wiki is the wiki for Minecraft. Minecraft Wiki helps you find out how to make things, how to build things, how things work, and more! Also there are servers. With servers you can play with people across the world. Also you can just play with your friends on servers too.

Do you play Minecraft?

What do you like most about Minecraft?

Do you like to play with different people?

March 6, 2013 by Ethan · 7 Comments · Life, Student Blogging Challenge

Student Challenge #1 asks, “If you could meet 10 people, alive or dead, who would they be? Make a list of the people and include one question you would ask them in an interview. You cannot repeat the same question.”

These are the ten people that I would like to ask:

George Washington = When did  you feel that you wanted independence?

Martin Luther King Jr. = When did you first think about equal rights?

Albert Einstein = Why did you quit school to become a scientist?

William Shakespeare = What inspired you to become a poet?

Isaac Newton = How did you figure out the rules of motion when no one else could?

Abraham Lincoln = What goaded you to free the enslaved?

Christopher Columbus = When you first explored America, what did you do first?

Ben Franklin = When you experimented with lighting, did you have any safety precautions?

Thomas Jefferson = How did you feel when you wrote The Declaration of Independence?

Harriet Tubman = What would you have done if someone caught you while you were leading others to the next stop?

Would you pick these people and why?

Who would you pick?

March 28, 2012 by Ethan · No Comments · Books, Games, Life, Technology

I have been saving up for a E reader and now I have $200. Then I found out how many there are. I am having trouble on figuring out which one I should get. I just would like to have a devise, so I can read books on long road trips.

  • Nook Color: On the Nook Color you can read books, play games, and also you can play movies on it but, it will go slow if you stream movies, go onto the internet. The Nook Color costs $169.99.
  • Ipad 2: On the Ipad 2 you can read books, play games, watch movies, go onto the internet, go onto email, and listen to music. The Ipad 2 costs $399.99.

New Year with Mr. Davo Devil

January 4, 2012 by Tracy Watanabe · 10 Comments · Books, Games, holidays, Life, Sports

I spent New Year’s weekend with Davo in Arizona. Here are 12 things we did to welcome 2012:

  1. We played Q-bitz which is a visual puzzle and game. To play this game, you have to flip a card and make the design on it as fast as you can. The objective is to finish before the other person.
  2. We played Around the World: The Ultimate Board Game. I did much better with this game because Davo has traveled several countries now and have met many people. Here were some of his favorite questions:
    • Indonesia was colonized by which of the following empires: A) Dutch B) American C) Chinese
    • From which country do Aborigines originate? Hint: Aborigines are the first inhabitants of this country.
    • Which group of people is referred to as Kiwis?
    • In which continent is the Great Barrier Reef located? Hint: It is the world’s longest coral structure

3. Davo and I went to the Apache Junction Public Library to check out a couple of books. We got Among the Hidden and The 39 Clues.

4. After I finished the first book of The 39 Clues, I got permission from his parents to make an account online to play the game. It was intriguing because you go on a mission and get clues from around the world to complete the mission.

5. We played Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars on the Wii. Davo had a hard time playing.

6. Davo got to play goalie when my family and I went to play soccer.

7. We enjoyed creating Circuits such as radios, a microphone that amplifies your voice, burglar alarms, lie detector, doorbells and much more!

8. Davo helped me with his Brain Benders puzzles. It was a good thing Davo has four paws to keep the pieces in place.

9. Davo helped I make homemade alfredo sauce for dinner. It was so scrumptious, and really easy to make! I was so glad we got to help make the dinner.

10. After dinner, we had a Nerf gun war. Since Davo is small, it was really difficult for me to hit him.

11. Davo helped me make a delicious dessert. We just put the pretzels on the cookie sheet and unwrapped Hersey kisses to place on top. After they melted, we stuck a peanut butter M & M on it. Yummy!

12. On New Year’s Eve, we tried to stay up real late to count down on the clock, but unfortunately Davo fell asleep at 9:45 pm. Playing all day wore him out.

I originally wrote this post from Mr. Davo Devil’s blog, with the help of Mr. Davo Devil.

What did you do to bring in the New Year?

Do you know any of the answers to Davo’s favorite Around the World questions?

If you went to my house, what of the things we did would be the most interesting for you?

My Christmas and Christmas Polls

December 23, 2011 by Ethan · 6 Comments · holidays, Life

During the mouth of December, I get excited about Christmas. I ask my dad when we can put up the Christmas tree and the Christmas lights to show our excitement about Jesus’ birth. After that I think of what I want for Christmas, I make a list of the things I want for Christmas. I have relatives over for Christmas. My Christmas list is Legos, a video game, a book, and a board game. I can’t wait for Christmas. Here are two things I have pondered. Please vote on both of the polls.

Spelling Bee

I was in the spelling bee today. I got to the sixth round, but then they had to figure out who was going to be fifth and sixth place. So, I got to go to the seventh round.

Last year, I got to the second round in the spelling bee, I froze because I didn’t know the word that the teacher told me to spell. I was really happy today when I got past the second round.

I tried again this year even though I froze last year. I felt really happy that I tried again.

Have you ever been in a spelling bee?

How did you do?

Have you tried to try again at something you didn’t do so well in?

How did you feel when you tried again?

On October 31st, I go trick or treating. I get dressed up in a costume. I get a lot of candy and I go with friends.

Before Halloween we carve pumpkins, my pumpkin was supposedly to be a Minecraft pumpkin, and we prepare our costumes. I was a Creeper, a Creeper is a monster in a video game called Minecraft. We sometimes buy our costumes, but this year I made mine. I used the computer to make my face. We bought me green clothes and green make up for my costume.

On Halloween we go around my neighborhood. We go to every house that has a light on the outside of it. At the houses we get candy. My friends and I get a lot of candy at the end of it.

After we are done trick or treating we go to a friend’s house and we get to have snacks. If we don’t get invited we go to my house and have some candy there.

I hope you have learned what I get to do on Halloween night. It is very fun on Halloween. That’s what I do on October 31st.

What do you do for Halloween?

Sonoran Desert, Student Challenge #5

October 13, 2011 by Ethan · 13 Comments · Life, Student Blogging Challenge, Technology

For the Student Blogging Challenge #5, I made a slideshow using SlideShare about the Sonoran Desert because this is where I live.

All of my photos came from Flickr, and they all have Creative Commons Licenses.

I think the lizard with the striped belly is the western zebra tailed lizard.

What animal did you the best?

What questions about the Sonoran Desert do you have?
