Halloween

November 6, 2011 by Ethan · 6 Comments · holidays, Life, Student Blogging Challenge

On October 31st, I go trick or treating. I get dressed up in a costume. I get a lot of candy and I go with friends.

Before Halloween we carve pumpkins, my pumpkin was supposedly to be a Minecraft pumpkin, and we prepare our costumes. I was a Creeper, a Creeper is a monster in a video game called Minecraft. We sometimes buy our costumes, but this year I made mine. I used the computer to make my face. We bought me green clothes and green make up for my costume.

On Halloween we go around my neighborhood. We go to every house that has a light on the outside of it. At the houses we get candy. My friends and I get a lot of candy at the end of it.

After we are done trick or treating we go to a friend’s house and we get to have snacks. If we don’t get invited we go to my house and have some candy there.

I hope you have learned what I get to do on Halloween night. It is very fun on Halloween. That’s what I do on October 31st.

What do you do for Halloween?

      Hi Uncle Kirk,

Thanks for the compliment. I liked having a unique costume that I made. What did Ricky and Megan dress as for Halloween?

    Hello Ethan,

When I was a child, Halloween wasn’t celebrated in Australia. It was some weird thing children in the USA did. It looked like fun but wasn’t a celebration we followed.

In the last few years in my town, it’s been a growing thing. This year I prepared 60 treats for visitors who came dressed up. I have a sign on my house to say I’m Halloween friendly as not all people in the neighborhood like unexpected visitors.

Your costume is wonderful, more so as you made it yourself. Most children around here use costumes they buy.

      Dear Mr. Mannell,

Thanks for your comments. This is the first year I made my own, and I think it’s the best one I’ve ever had.

    Dear Ethan,

What a terrific post about Halloween!

I live in an area where there are hills, so we never get any trick-or-treaters. So, I went to my brother’s house and helped him pass out candy. He and his wife went trick-or-treating with their kids, and my husband and I handed out candy at their house. I must confess, I ate a few of the Peppermint Patties and Peanut Butter Cups! Yum!

The best costume I saw was a little four year old girl who was dressed as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.

Did you see any costumes that you liked while trick-or-treating?

What is your favorite type of candy?

      Dear Mrs. Yollis,

Thank you for the compliment. It is nice that you can help your brother pass out candy. I don’t live near any of my relatives. In my neighborhood there was a few people trick-or-treating. I think the reason why that is because it was a school night. My favorite candy is peanut butter M&Ms.

      Witch candy is your favorite?
