Science Day

We had a fun filled Science Day!  We made balloon cars, jumping bugs, an art machine, apple volcanos, and learned a bit about chemistry.  It was pretty awesome 🙂

We made a solar powered s’mores oven.

We wrote directions for how to make a s’more

Then we went outside to test our solar ovens.  Only one problem … the sun was not really cooperating.

But we had fun and the s’mores were super yummy anyway.

One of us grew a beard during the process

HA!  It was a fun way to end our camping unit.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!  Get ready for the last week of school!! =o

Camping Week Has Begun

We had some fun camping themed rotations on Monday and Tuesday this week.  We had to alphabetize, graph, match homophones and compound words, and identify true/false base ten block pictures.

Ocean Animals Research

We split up into small groups (2-3 people) and read a book about a certain type of ocean animal.  As we read we identified key details within the text.  When we were finished reading we made a poster with pictures that represented those key details.  Here’s how some of them turned out (we have some artists in our class) …

Whale Shark

Coral Reefs

Glow in the Dark Fish

Jelly Fish
