Dot Day 2017

We LOVE International Dot Day! Dot Day is all about celebrating our creativity and courage. This year, 10,072,020 people celebrated in over 170 countries. We started our morning reading The Dot, a story about a girl named Vashti. Then, we created our beautiful dots. We even wrote creative stories about our dots. Here are a few of them.

A Dot’s Journey

One day a dot went on a journey. He took a journey to every continent. First, he traveled to Antarctica. The dot looked around it was snowy, cold, and lonely. All he saw was snow and ice. “There’s no water for miles,” he said. Then he saw something. Something very big, very white, and very very fast. ”Is that what I think that is?” he said. ”No way that can’t be one,” he said. “It’s a polar bear!” he said excitedly. He was getting way too close to it. Suddenly….it attacked him! He ran as fast as he could to his boat. He made it and sailed away. ”That was a close one,” he said scared. Next, he went to the U.S.A. ”What is this place?” he said. ”Is this Alaska?” he thought. The dot was hungry and tired. He had no food, and no where to rest except the snowy cold floor. He was thinking of giving up. But there is one thing he couldn’t do get back home. He was lost! He thought he couldn’t survive for much longer. He was scared and lonely. Soon, he saw something or someone. ”Is that another traveler?” he said. When the traveler saw him he immediately asked him if he was ok. The dot said, ”Yes I’m ok just really hungry.” So the traveler gave him some food and took him home. (1 month later) The dot found out that if he was going to do that again he needs to be prepared. The dot learned a lesson to be prepared instead of unprepared. And that’s the dots journey.
