Post written by Cole and Jewel

We went to the zoo!

My favorite was the rhino.

They can run up to 25 miles an hour. They can weigh up to 100 pounds or more. When their are babies are born they’re very fragile.

The monkey was a baby. It was fun when we watch it climb the tree. It had a very long tail. It was so cute. I wonder if miss.chavez saw the monkey? There was a pond below it. There was a swan below it. I had a wonderful time!

What are your favorite animals?

Do you know any facts about giraffes or Komodo Dragons?

Quality Commenting0

Guest Post by Tracy Watanabe

Commenting is what sets blogs apart from regular websites. Our ability to start conversations and make connections beyond the post are some of the reasons why we love blogging. It is important to learn how to write quality comments in order to spark conversations with others.

Writing quality comments is also part of digital citizenship.

Mrs. Yollis and her students taught us about quality commenting. They taught us these tips:

  1. Compliment the writer in a specific way.
  2. Add new information.
  3. Make a connection with the writer.
  4. Ask a question.
  5. Proofread your comment.
  • Start with a capital letter.
  • End with the right punctuation mark.
  • Use high level vocabulary words.

Here is the video from Mrs. Yollis’ class:
